{My life with Harry Potter}

I'm so glad Harry Potter was introduced when Nolan was growing up.  I haven't done a lot of things right when it comes to parenting my children but I have the best memories of a few shining moments.
Enjoying Harry Potter with Nolan was one of them.

Nolan had the BEST teacher ever when he was in the 4th grade (pre-home school - I'm not talking about me! ;) and her name is Bettie Watkins.  She introduced Nolan, and in turn us, to the magical world of Harry Potter.  I love Bettie Watkins for all of her wonderfulness aside from HP.  I could write pages about her but this will be about Nolan and Harry Potter - you just needed to know that she is wonderful.

The HP book releases were the best!  Making costumes and going to the ultra-late night book releases -  SO cool! I'm glad my son has always loved participating in everything.  I've always been so blah and boring and would have missed all the fun!

That smile is priceless.  That smile reminds me of all the late-night book releases.  It reminds me of the times I took him out of school to go see the first showing of the HP movies.  Sounds like a recipe for bad parenting but it was the best!

That smile also meant that he was going to read that book walking to the car . . . turn on the light in the car and read in the Taco Bell drive-thru . . . all the way home. . . stay up all night reading that book and loving every minute of it.  My heart just melts.

So, the latest HP movie is in theaters and I haven't seen it.  It's just not the same.  My life with Harry Potter was all about Nolan.  I'm waiting for him to come home this fall.  I want to sit down and watch it with him.  It's actually legal to buy pirated movies in Argentina.  Crazy, but true.  Maybe we will actually get to watch it as soon as he comes home?  We believe in obeying the laws of the land so if it's legal is it "legal"?

{I'm definitely NOT superwoman}

Oh well.  I tried.  I'm definitely NOT superwoman.  Guess I should have mentioned what the boy's Eagle Scout projects will be!  If they are approved . . .

Keaton will be working with the Christian Care Center.  He met with one of my favorite {and always beautiful} women in the world . . .

. . . he will collect food . . .

 and assemble snack kits for children.  Such a great way to help families in need with after-school snacks!

 Landon met with my friend Holly.  She's a gorgeous Army wife and . . .

. . . her husband is currently deployed.  Wow, I appreciate him.  He's the charming Sergeant on the left.

 Landon was collecting supplies so he can make neck coolers for this special Sergeant and his detachment in Iraq.  They will be home for a two week leave in the near future and Landon can meet them in person!
